Kuya (Kouya, Kowya) is a Kru language of Ivory Coast. In March 2012 the dedication of the Kouya New Testament occurred. Over
500 people were present at the event. The Chief of Dema village was presented with a New Testament. T-shirts worn at the event
stated Dieu parle Kouya (God speaks Kouya). Literacy work has also been undertaken in Kouya by members of the team that translated
the New Testament. A Kouya dictionary has been created. The language was first put in written form by the team in the 1980s.
Many people are now able to read Kouya. |
